The Siachen glacier as seen in 2011. The 76 km long glacier is sometimes called a “white snake”.

      The sun appears to be just to the right of the top of the image both on the glaciers and the shuttle. Perhaps you think the shadows on the shuttle show the sun from below? If so, look again.
